Social Stories are individualized stories written from your child’s perspective that can be exceptionally useful in helping your child anticipate, prepare or cope with big events, changes, transitions or specific ongoing issues. They are prepared at your child's developmental level and may include visual aids. They include specific details of what your child can expect to happen and how they can expect to feel.

A typical line in a social story may be, “I might feel sad. This is okay.”
