Core Values, Principles & Philosophy
.Family Centered: A child with special needs is a family with special needs. Providing emotional support and educational services to family members is a vital piece of the puzzle. Family members are actively involved in the treatment process see greater improvements and an overall reduction in family stress.
.Person First: Before the disability there is a person. I will always see the person first and will use person-first language.
.Integrated Approach: Every approach has its strengths and limitations. Treatment decisions are best made according to individual needs, not by an individual approach.
.Customer Service: I encourage you to communicate your concerns, ideas and feedback.
.Strengths-Based Empowerment: I believe in finding and shaping the gifts and talents often associated with differently-abled minds. I will work to empower our child through teaching self-awareness, self-determination and self-advocacy skills.
.Partnerships: Cooperation and collaboration between parents, schools, therapists and agencies means building relationships and advocating for the win-win situations.
.Advocacy & Education: I will work to improve public awareness, understanding and accessibility for people with special needs.
.Playfulness & Humor: Laughter and having fun are encouraged. Sometimes humor is the most effective tool to deal with difficulties in an honest and pragmatic way.
.Professional Code of Ethics: I am committed to delivering professional and ethical services in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics.
Mission: To provide individuals, families and communities living with autism, asperger’s, add/adhd, learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities or other developmental disabilities opportunities to learn, grow, heal, and experience life to their fullest potential.
